Proposals & Voting

Proposals

Though proposals may affect all users and holders of ALTD, the collected fees and thus the earnings of Altitude, are redistributed to the stakers of ALTD. For that reason, only holders of gALTD are able to submit a proposal.

As of now there are no plans to implement thresholds for a minimum staking amount or vesting time for proposal submission eligibility.

How does it work

Within Discord, community members will be able to gauge the overall sentiment in the community towards a proposal they are preparing. Once sufficient support is reached, they will submit an AIP, (Altitude Improvement Proposal), using Snapshot, where the community can start voting.

Once quorum is achieved, the Proposal will be put forward for an actual vote using Snapshot.

Before an AIP goes live, Snapshot will take into account all holders of gALTD at snapshot for the current weight. Once a proposal passes, the results will be published on Altitude socials and proceed towards implementation consideration.

Proposal Implementation

All proposals that are passed will be sent to the core team for further review. Furthermore, these proposals will be confirmed with the developer team to ensure the implementation is feasible, or if adjustments are required.

Once the proposal is reviewed and feedback is received, it will be determined if additional voting is needed, otherwise the team will add the implementation of the proposal to the roadmap.

Based on the roadmap item, the core team reserves the right to change the execution of the proposal. The reason for such a decision will be thoroughly explained and will be based on the following:

  • Passed proposal endangers the security and longevity of the protocol

  • Passed proposal is in conflict with other proposal / executed activities on roadmap

  • Passed proposal did not include clear / correct information and thus no informed decision could be made by voters

  • Passed proposal will require a large investment in either time or funds by the project team, and will hinder the team from ensuring continuation of development of the protocol in general

The core team will ensure a clear and valid response within a reasonable timeline from the successful passing of a proposal.

Rejected proposals

Proposals that were rejected cannot be submitted to the community again for a period of time, nor proposals that are similar in nature. This is to ensure no endless discussions will result in the waste of time and resources.
